Far from the hustle and bustle of megacities, a special boy lives in a small town. It so happened that he is very keen on the feelings of other people. Someone else's crying, screaming, pain severely traumatize the child, he plugs his ears, trying to protect himself from emotional overload. The boy cannot sleep without light and is afraid of the dark screens of non-working TVs. Here is his difficult story.
Our hero's name is Artyom. Artyom is already 7 years old. The boy has a dad, mom and an older brother. And also Artyom Pavlovich has organic brain damage. Everything went more or less well until about a year and a half. Initially, a medium-sized (2850 g) baby gained weight very well, sat down at the age of one, at the age of a year and a half he made his first step. The parents decided to send the little one to a nursery, but Artyom fell seriously ill and had fever. They put on left-sided pneumonia. Only later did the MRI show that it was meningitis. Against the background of immunodeficiency, all this had an extremely detrimental effect on the boy's health. Artyom completely refused to eat, he had to go back to bottles with a nutritional formula, and then completely force-feed through a syringe. The boy stopped talking, suddenly forgot all the words, and at some point he stopped recognizing his parents. He just crawled under the table and looked from there with frightened eyes.
In Kropotkin, no one could help him, mom and dad took their son to Krasnodar. A full-fledged examination confirmed the worst guesses, almost daily visits to local doctors began, consultations with geneticists, nutritionists, and biomedical correction. Alas, this did not bring results. Having accumulated with difficulty, having gathered, having appointed the necessary, the guys took their son to St. Petersburg. Active rehabilitation began. Katya, Artyom's mother, was forced to leave her job as a sales representative. Since then, only dad has earned money in the family. Pavel accepts his son as he is. He is not ashamed, does not shy away, is not afraid or complains - he just loves his sons equally and tries very, very hard for the sake of his family. And mother, in turn, makes every effort to make her son better than he was before.
Hippotherapy, swimming pool, exercise therapy, swimming with dolphins, walks, developmental activities, and maybe even watching Soviet cartoons have born fruit. Artyom walks on his own, although not always neatly, he eats, although not very correctly, but speaks. And most importantly, he really wants to learn. He has a conscious look, the intellect is preserved. Many did not believe in the child, did not approve of the costs of rehabilitation, but Artyom is progressing, knows letters, numbers, willingly studies, learns and gets to know the world. Artyom is not at all easy, but he does not get tired of trying. This is a given, his brain works this way, at the moment there is no way to change this given instantly and forever. But there are hundreds of ways to become better, to adjust something, straighten, tune neural connections.
Each rehabilitation course is a step forward and upward. This fee will allow the family to pay for the next stage of rehabilitation at the Rostock of Hope Center. The family moved to Slavyansk-on-Kuban on purpose to be closer to this center. This course is very important and necessary, because next year Artyom will go to first grade. But for a correctional school, he is too developed, but in an ordinary school he is unlikely to cope because of his emotional and volitional characteristics. Parents of special children are planning to organize family training or a resource class. We hope that they will succeed. And we will do our best to collect the required amount as early as possible.
The world is cruel and tough, even a healthy person cannot get on his feet right away, many cannot find themselves, cannot cope, get lost, cannot be realized. And it is much more difficult for people with special psycho-speech development.
